उज्जैन के महाकाल मंदिर परिसर में स्थित नागचंद्रेश्वर मंदिर अपनी अनोखी परंपरा के लिए देशभर में प्रसिद्ध है। इस मंदिर के कपाट साल में सिर्फ एक दिन, नाग पंचमी पर श्रद्धालुओं के लिए खोले जाते हैं। 2026 में नाग पंचमी 17 अगस्त को मनाई जा रही है और इसी दिन भक्तों को नागचंद्रेश्वर के दुर्लभ दर्शन मिलेंगे। मान्यता है कि यहां भगवान शिव माता पार्वती के साथ नाग की शैय्या पर विराजमान हैं। मंदिर से जुड़ी कथा राजा तक्षक और भगवान शिव से भी जुड़ी है। यही मान्यताएं इस मंदिर को श्रद्धालुओं के बीच बेहद खास और रहस्यमयी बनाती हैं।
